I have spent almost three weeks in my new home and am not quite sure what to think of it. I feel like I have traveled the world and never left home. New friends old and young have been very easy to come upon. I have received some treasures/presents from India, Israel and I believe Paris all in three weeks. My new best friend is 65 and the president of her company is a huge golden retriever by the name of Jackson. My assistant manager will not ride in a car with anyone and will not allow anyone to ride in her car with her. She says if she drives off a cliff she will be okay because she has a survival kit and plenty of canned stew! What the hell, i think if you drove off of a cliff you would be dead who cares about the food? I have been walking up and down the streets of Park City for three weeks with my eyes wide open. There are constantly signs to vote for Oboma and every where you go someone wants to talk to you or get you to sign up for "save our canyons" or some other group or organization that they are overly passionate about. I think i may be back in Vermont. Oh but there is construction on every corner....I am in Utah.

Sisters
This is such a fun photo that has a funny story to go with it. This was after my date with the "Farm Boy". It was so funny to have my whole family there to help me get ready. It felt like I was going to the Prom or something. It was so funny to watch everyone get so excited about it. We had everything from my mom trying to wash dishes very slow so she could see him walk up the sidewalk to my dad putting on his best outfit...his leather bikers vest a cowboy hat and his favorite colorful shorts with his J.Crew dog socks. It was so funny, we were all laughing.

One Crazy Week!
Lets hope I can look back at this year as a very memorable experience. After this past week I believe I truly understand what patience and biting your tongue in certain situations is like. I have never in my life met so many demanding, high maintenance people in my life until I moved to L.A. Wow who would have thought that purchasing a 9.99 shirt could be so difficult.... just by it it 9.99 and twenty five percent off that price. I know that the words "final sale" really scare you but I promise you will be all right as much as the early Monday returns day will be missed. I don't quite think I understand this customer yet or ever will. Where I was raised you were able to make decisions on your own and you did not need attention or an opinion from every associate in the store. I think that is the problem with L.A... everyone is worried about what some body else thinks, how about worrying about your self for once. I think that there is very little character or self identification with this being. All I can say is I will really miss the sunshine here but I will not miss this customer. I am so excited for my mini 2 day break for when Erica comes to visit. It will be also just as exciting when mom and the girls come into town for the 4th of July. It will be so nice to be able to celebrate a holiday with family and I am looking forward to many more down the road.

Life Changes
So lately there has been quite a few changes going on here in the sunny state of California. For starters my favorite manager/friend Lorelyn had her last day at J.crew with me. She has been such a fun person to work with and I am sad to let her go but excited for the opportunity ahead of her.Big news, it looks like I am going to finally be moving closer to home...Park City! It has been practically 10 years since I have lived home. I am excited for the opportunity and everything seems to be falling into place. I told my dad he must be very rightous because he said he had been praying for me to move closer, or hell is about to freeze over! I am not so sure which it is but hopefully it all works out and I get to spend more time with my family and friends.

Motivation
So I have been thinking a lot about this word lately...what does it take to motivate someone? I think it has been on my mind personally and professionally a lot lately. I am having a hard time motivating myself to get out and exercise. I have always loved sports and physical activity but my stupid bunion is causing my foot to ache every time I put on my gym shoe ouch! I don't know what it is about my lazy self lately. But on the other hand I feel like I have been really motiviating my staff to strive to do better and raise the bar a little bit. I believe that just comes with constant postive feedback and appreciation of their hard efforts. It feels so rewarding to see the smiles on their faces when they have done a great job. So maybe I need someone to encourage me to excercise more frequently... I guess it will be good to live near my sister soon because she can be my motivation and whip me into shape.

I HATE MONDAYS!
Well it is always my day to close the store and it seems like the day never ends. Of course we were having another ongoing sewage issue in the store and it smelt like poop. I thought I left all of this behind in my Las Vegas store, but apparently the smell of poop/sewage loves to follow me everywhere. So with the stench of too many rubber flip flops, sewage, and the garbage dump that is right outside my store it was quite the combintation of aromas! Of course we had the crazy customers today from everything from a crazy, mentally ill women suffering from severe anorexia, to the guy/girl I am not sure which gender, to the women that doesn't quiet understand what the word FINAL SALE means. Really what is not to understand about that, but I guess when you don't understand the english language even though you live in the United States might be part of the problem. Other than that the day was so very smooth.
I am sure everyone that reads this is never going to want to work a day in retail in there life and I wouldn't recommend it to many. Nothing else really eventful today, unfortunatly. There was a cool shooting on the 101 freeeway today, which is the freeway I drive to work every day. But thats all for now. I am trying to write at least something every day so when I look back on my life I will remember my time here in L.A.

Ahh the Week end!
This week end has been quite relaxing and productive. I went hiking with my friend Danny and it was intersting to see how people hike in L.A. The majority had cups of Starbucks in their hands vs. water and they all had sunglasses and most of the girls had leggings. And of course everyone had a dog, which made me very sad and miss rince. At the beginning of the hike you can buy a granola bar, bananna, sparkling water and your own portable toilet to go! I had no idea hiking could be so trendy, it was hillarious. The view was quite different but I guess you could call it pretty it was Hollywood...big huge billboards and lots and lots of mansions with big swimming pools. It is a little different than looking over the mountain at Paradise.

Today was quite eventful! I worked all day with my boyfriend J.Crew, we had a great time. This week was roll out so we are putting out all of the new clothes for all of my crazy customers. I think this week was the week that they let all of the rude, crazy people off of work so they could come harass me. Who ever thought someone could be so mean if they had to wait in line to make a return and there was only one person ahead of them. Wow is it that serious, people should not be so rushed all the time and take it out on me! LOL! Talk about high maintance as well, I could not even compete with these women, talk about demanding. If you have ever seen the houswives of Orange County you know what I am working with, except the housewives of L.A. spend beyond there means and then return it to me on Monday morning. I have not quite figured out this particular L.A. women, but when I do I will keep you posted.
I want another puppy, Lorelyn has a shitzu that is 10 weeks old and talk about cute! I think my father would have my head, but we will see. Tomorrow is another day with my boyfriend J.Crew, I hope it is just as fun.
